Who We Are

History

Soukup Construction Inc. was founded in 1963 with a bulldozer and a pickup truck. Carl and Marietta Soukup started the business in Scotland, SD, moved to Irene, and settled in Sioux Falls.

  • Moved to a new state of the art facility in 2016

Today

Now, with more than 100 employees and 300 pieces of late model construction equipment. Soukup Construction does most of its work across eastern South Dakota. We do a variety of earthwork activities including:

  • Site preparation for small and large buildings
  • Earthwork for highway and urban streets
  • Demolition of buildings, pavements, houses and bridges
  • Environmental cleanup
  • Underground utilities
  • General hauling

We also build and own various developments. We pride ourselves on working with owners and general contractors to develop a quality, cost-efficient plan that takes a project from the infancy stage through to completion. At Soukup Construction Inc. we take great pride in our commitment to community involvement and benevolence.

Our Team Philosophy

Our employees are our most valuable asset.

We recognize the fact that without good employees, Soukup Construction Inc. could not operate. Soukup Construction also recognizes the fact that without strong family support, we could not operate the long hours we do when our jobs and workload require it.

In recognition of this, each year Soukup Construction has a holiday party in which families are invited to attend. We also try to have a summer party, as well, which has been held at Thunder Road Amusement Park, Sioux Falls Canaries Stadium, Ramkota Hotel, Empire Bowl and the VFW in past years.
